bugmenot.com

Have you ever wanted to access the information of a free site, only to find that unless you sign over your first born child you can get at it? I have and I've turned away from a lot of these sites as I find some of the information they request to be intrusive. And those sites that are not intrusive (they only want my email address) usually start sending me crap, and I can do without that, thanks.

Here is an interesting service that tries to battle the problem. bugmenot.com will give you a login to many such sites. These accounts have been set up with bugmenot in mind, so they are dummy accounts attached to dead email accounts (see bspamfree.org). Read the FAQ, give it a try and set up your own dummy account for sites you like and share it on the site for others. They aren't out to put anyone out of business, so access info to paid subscription sites are not encouraged.
