For whatever reason, usually departing industry, these once thriving towns were abandoned by their populations. Some still stand, in ruin, and some are lovingly cared for by state caretakers and run as a part of the states tourist industry. Here, you can tour them, get a sense of the history and just marvel at the beauty of it all.
