Listen up gentle readers, this is cutting edge stuff! Podcasts are audio broadcasts for your iPod - or any other MP3 player really. Who makes podcasts? Why, anybody of course, or you if you wanted to. This is like broadcast radio for the masses. Think college radio, but you don't have to be in college to listen to it.
If you have a web site, you can record an audio mp3 file for people to download and listen to at their leisure. The beauty of the iPodder software is that it can automatically find your favourite Podcasts and download them for you. OK admittedly a lot of these first broadcast efforts are garbage - there is a reason broadcast radio sounds so good and that's because it is created by professionals. I can say that the creator of all this, Adam Curry, has a very worth while show called The Daily Source Code.
