AIM Acronyms
This link will bring you to the AOL web page that lists many of the commonly used Instant Messaging (IM) acronyms.
You may not use IM yourself, but, IMHO, your children probably do, or will, and unless you want them communicating to their friends in a language you can't understand, you should at least familiarize yourself with them, LOL.
There are others - ones that signal that a parent has just entered the room for instance - that are not listed here, but you will know them when you see them and I'll see if I can't dig up a list of the underground ones as well.
BCNU
P.S. "Leet", or "L33T", is something that your kids might think is a cool code, but it's not. It just swaps similar looking numbers or symbols for the letters of the alphabet. It looks different, but you can read it just fine, you just have to use a little imagination.
